The movie was nominated for many German awards and won the prize for best camerawork. By the way, this is the only work where the pseudonym of the Empress is used correctly: with one “S”. The rest of the biopics and documentaries use “Sissi”.

A young Gascon who arrives in Paris to join the king’s regiment of musketeers, falls in love with the queen’s girlfriend, makes friends and becomes a crossroads for the clever schemer and his main agent Milady.
