But the girl immediately notices that their behavior is somehow suspicious and even frightening. And then strange, inexplicable things begin to happen to her.
The film is based on the work of the same name by Canadian writer Ian Reed.

In the message, her father tells Lauren about an underground bunker on their estate and asks for her forgiveness. The bewildered heroine goes to the specified address and finds there an unknown man, chained in chains. After hearing the prisoner’s story, she is horrified and lets him go, unaware that by doing so she has brought mortal danger upon herself and others.
Simon Pegg, who played the role of the prisoner, had to go through a grueling hunger strike to look really thin and haggard.

Gwen Olsen, Patrick Sullivan, Melanie Cole, the Brothers Marriage and Jay Weaver win a raffle with the grand prize of a visit to a mysterious tropical resort called Fantasy Island. Upon arrival, the lucky ones are met by Mr. Roark, the so-called manager and keeper of the island, and he tells the guests that in this place each of their deepest dreams can come true.
The heroes are sure that they are caught in some kind of role-playing game with actors, so they do not hesitate to tell Roark about their wishes. They have no idea that the island actually conceals a terrible secret. And soon they will all have to fight for their lives.
The film is a prequel to the TV series of the same name.

Gretel, who recently turned 16, and her little brother Hansel are forced to leave their home. Their own mother, an overbearing and cruel woman, abused them and even threatened to flog them to death. In search of a better life and a piece of bread, the unfortunate children wander from one village to another, and one day they stumble upon a small house in the woods.
There lives a lonely and very sweet old woman who happily invites the children to stay with her. The brother and sister gladly agree, as it never even occurs to them that under the appearance of the dandelion grandmother there is a bloodthirsty sorceress, who hunts children.
Several episodes of the film were filmed in the old hunting lodge, The Hell Fire Club, which is known for its mystical past.
