8 mysterious dreams of Akira Kurosawa, from childhood to old age. It all begins when a boy, feeling eerie curiosity, hides behind a sprawling tree and peeks at a kitsune (spirit wedding) that is forbidden to see.

Next, visions of a festival of dolls come to him in the form of spring peach blossom gardens; mountain climbers who have miraculously escaped a winter blizzard; an officer who alone survived the war, watching his dead battle comrades; a fallen student in a famous Van Gogh painting; a power plant under threat of destruction; a wailing demon surviving a nuclear disaster; and finally, a mournful cheerful procession, speaking of the end of a beautifully fulfilling life.

At first the creator of the short films planned to involve only children’s recorded dreams, but then he added different periods of his life, gaining approval and funding from the best screenwriters and directors – Scorsese, Spielberg and Lucas.

Alex Gardner has the uncanny ability to enter other people’s dreams. Not only that, he can actively participate in them and even influence the outcome of events. Using his talents only for his own benefit and to play cards, the time comes for more serious experiments.

The psychic’s attention is drawn to the scientist Peter Novotny, who is determined to penetrate into the dream of the country’s first person. By doing so, Alex is unwittingly drawn into dangerous political games from which he must somehow get out.

In 1985, the dream movie won the nomination as the best horror film and took the top prize at the Golden Raven Film Festival of the Fantastic World in Brussels.
