Anime films and series about demons are a spectacular and fascinating phenomenon.
For the most part, filmmakers focus on the long term fascination of the audience, creating large-scale series that feature unique Asian folklore, modern technology, the art of swordsmanship, and love stories.
Some of the feature films are sequels, prequels, and spin-offs of their respective multi-part shows. These are not bad “previews” of the series, allowing you to see the gist of events in a stand-alone story.
But there are individual works, many of which one wants to revisit again and again. They immerse us in the bizarre world of Asian mythology, where ghosts, people and demons are sometimes indistinguishable from each other and do not always carry evil.
