Wishing to exorcise the evil entity, the parents decide to perform an exorcism. However, during the ritual, the demon moves from the child into David’s sister’s boyfriend, a good-natured guy named Ernie Cheyenne.

The film is based on real events that took place in 1981. In the real story, as in the movie, there was a boy allegedly possessed by a demon and his sister’s boyfriend, who, after a ritual, became the second victim of the otherworldly creature.

It is not known whether there really was a demon, but Ernie Cheyenne’s lawyers (in real life the man’s name was the same as in the movie) tried to convince the court of the plausibility of this version.
